The Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee approved reducing the prices of gasoline and diesel during the month of November 2023 by 41 fils for gasoline and 15 fils for diesel per liter, compared to the prices of October 2023.
Fuel distribution companies announced the new prices, with implementation starting Wednesday, November 1, 2023, as the new pricing includes a 5% value-added tax.
The price of a liter of super gasoline “98” decreased by 41 fils from 3.44 dirhams in October to 3.03 dirhams in November, and a liter of special gasoline “95” decreased by 41 fils from 3.33 dirhams in October to 2.92 dirhams in November. The price of a liter of E-Plus 91 gasoline also decreased by 41 fils from 3.26 dirhams in October to 2.85 dirhams in November. The price of a liter of diesel also fell by 15 fils per liter, from 3.57 dirhams in October to 3.42 dirhams in November.
The committee had approved reducing gasoline prices during the month of June 2023 by 21 fils for gasoline, and 23 fils for diesel per liter, compared to prices in May. It also approved reducing gasoline prices during April by between 7 and 8 fils, and reducing diesel prices by 11 fils per liter, compared to March 2023 prices.
The fuel price standards approved by the Ministry of Energy are determined on a monthly basis, according to the average global price of oil, whether up or down, after adding the operating costs of distribution companies.
