Robert Lewandowski led Barcelona to a thrilling win over Villarreal in La Liga

Barcelona won a thrilling 4-1 victory over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Sunday, in the third round of the Spanish La Liga.

Barcelona took the lead in the 12th minute through Gavi, before Frenkie de Jong added the second goal in the 15th minute.

Villarreal responded and pulled one back through Juan Foyth in the 26th minute, before Alexander Sørloth equalized in the 40th minute, to end the first half at 2-2.

In the second half, Villarreal took the lead for the first time, scoring their third goal through Alex Berenguer in the 50th minute.

But Barcelona responded with an equalizer through Ferran Torres in the 68th minute, before Robert Lewandowski scored the fourth goal in the 71st minute.

Barcelona's win moved them up to seventh place in the table, on seven points, one point behind second-placed Girona. Real Madrid top the standings with nine points.

Villarreal, on the other hand, remain in 13th place with three points.
